Who qualifies for NFL T&P disability?
T&P is a monthly benefit from the NFL Player Disability & Neurocognitive Benefit Plan for former players who can no longer work for pay because of injuries or illness, and whose disability is expected to be permanent. Football injuries, other medical conditions, or both can count.
Unlike Line of Duty, T&P is about whether you can hold a job. The Disability Board reviews your medical records and reports from its neutral physicians to decide.
You can still qualify, but you have to apply within 18 months of your release. Don't wait on this one.
Four categories. Big differences.
Your category depends on what caused your disability and when it started. Getting it right can mean thousands more every month.
Monthly minimums. Your benefit may be higher based on your Credited Seasons.

MLB Total & Permanent Disability
Former MLB players with 4 or more years of MLB service who can no longer work may qualify for $6,000 a month until age 62, plus $600 for each qualified dependent, no matter how long ago you were released.
“I was denied the benefit and Legacy Pro Sports kept pushing me, kept me motivated and made sure I got in front of the right people… And now today, I am approved.”
A denial, or the wrong category, isn't final. We review the decision and file the NFL disability appeal.
